Loving Thoughts - Heavy Metal

Good morning Blogland!  Welcome to our latest challenge over at The Corrosive Challenge Blog.  We are super excited to have Dilly Beans as our sponsor for April.  I have already expressed my affection for Megan Suarez's images in a previous post :-) The challenge this week is "Heavy Metal" use at least one metal embellishment on your project.  I used image #264 two hearts girl from our sponsor.  The sentiment is computer generated using "Freeze!" font downloaded at Free Scrapbook Fonts.  As I was coloring the hearts the color started to bleed a little, and I was irritated at first, but then I thought it looked kind of cool like tie dye, so I actually used my blender to make it spread a little more.  I added some "deconstructed doodling" to the edges around the image and sentiment, trying for a faux stitching effect, not sure how well it worked, but worth a shot.  I had the heart charm on hand, and thought it worked perfectly with the hearts in her hair.  Did a little sponging and distressing on the edges of the papers.  As for the rest of the details:

Papers:  Butterfly paper by SEI (not sure of the actual name), Striped and "grungy" paper from The Rockstar Mat Stack by DCWV.
Embellishments:  Recollections Rhinestones, silver charm by Blue Moon, brads and ribbon from stash.
Sketch #SSS69 from Sweet Stop Sketches
I still can't get over how amazingly awesome the weather has been lately.  I have a desk job, but there is a good walking route right down the road so I try to get out for a walk in the sun and the fresh air when I can.  Hopefully we don't get a blizzard in April as punishment!  LOL.  Is that a New England thing to always fear the worst from the weather, especially if it's almost too nice?  Looking forward to seeing all the wonderful creations on the Corrosive blog.  Maybe blast a little Guns n' Roses or Metallica to get you in the Heavy Metal mood.  Rock on!!

Awesome! Love the doodling (and that you borrowed my term for it! lol)! Fabulous coloring and great papers! The heart charm is the perfect piece of metal to compliment the image! :)
