Corrosive Challenge 171 - Spring Fling

Happy Easter blog land!  Hope the bunny was good to everyone.  I have had a busy week.  Monday my son and I were in Florida visiting with my Mother and Step-Dad (we arrived Thurs), Tuesday we flew back home, Weds was back to work for the rest of the week trying to catch up.  It is always so much fun to visit, a lot of sadness to leave, but some gratefulness this time to come back to what seems to finally be the start of spring!  Phew!  Perfect timing for our new challenge at The Corrosive Challenge:  SPRING FLING.  We want to see your best spring themed project:  Easter, flowers, sunshine, bring on the warm weather.  Our fantastic sponsor is Delicious Doodles.  Teri the artist has a little something for everyone.  She is even having a SALE until midnight on Sunday!

Teri very generously offered the DT some images to choose from, and I was inspired by Rosalee.  Isn't she just lovely?
Rosalee is colored with Copics and fussy cat and mounted with foam squares.  I added a little bit of red glitter to the roses on the image, and added lots of paper roses around her (W.O.C. and Recollections).

Papers:  Crate Paper - Pretty Party "Stitch", MME - Howdy Doody "Like" Wild Flowers

Embellies:  SU - "Blushing Bride" Ribbon pleated satin, Recollections pearls, cloth brads from stash

I think I am still trying to catch up to being gone for a few days, but I am almost there.  Looking forward to some egg hunts and family get togethers for Easter.  Hopefully spring and the warmer weather is here for good.  Be sure to share all your spring-y creations over at The Corrosive Challenge!

Corrosive Challenge 170 - Just Dance

I don't know about anyone else, but there are few things that are more fun than blasting your favorite music, and busting some dance moves.  I used to do a lot more of it before I had my son, I went to Boston almost every weekend to hear different DJ's play electronic music, and get my groove on with the hubby.  We had a blast!  Now most of the dancing I do is playing a Wii game or hopping around the living room with my son, but it's still a good time.  Since I am such a fan of dancing, I was excited about our new challenge:  Just Dance.  Create a project with a dance themed image or inspired by dance or music.

A new challenge at The Corrosive Challenge means a new sponsor with a fabulous new prize! We are super excited to welcome back Mayzy Art as our sponsor this month! Mayzy is offering up 5 of her awesome digis as a prize to our winner! Mayzy has tons of fantastic images that are perfect for the challenge.

I started out with Break Dance, available in the Mayzy Art shop.  She is colored with Copics, cut with an oval Nestabilities, and sponged a little with yellow ink.

I popped up the image with foam squares and added the flowers and Tim Holtz Adage Ticket as the final touch.
Sketch was courtesy of Graphicat Sketches.  They used to scare me a little because they have a lot going on sometimes, but I am loving their sketches lately, and I will even be able to enter the challenge!

Papers:  Cosmo Cricket the Boyfriend "Art Appreciation"
Embellies:  WOC Roses, brads and ribbon from stash.

This was a super fun challenge, and I hope to see lots of entries.  C'mon and get your groove on over at The Corrosive Challenge!

Corrosive Challenge169 - Sparkle and Shine

I feel like it was just yesterday that I couldn't believe it was already February, and now it's March!  Not that I am complaining.  After several late winter storms, I am SO READY for winter to be over.  Enough of the gray, gloomy skies, cold weather and nasty brown piles of snow.  At least we have a new challenge to look forward to!
This week we have a brand new sponsor over at The Corrosive Challenge...Rick St Dennis!  He has so many unique and varied stamps available, and fresh challenges and ideas over at the Rick St Dennis Blog.  He very generously let the team each choose an image, and it was not an easy choice!  I ended up choosing  Dragon.  How cool is this guy!?
The new challenge, in honor of Rick's Blog named "Sparkle and Glitter", is to add Sparkle and Shine to your project.
I started with Dragon, and colored him with Copics, then added tons of stickles and glitter.  Some of the stickles are a little more dull in color, but they add a lot of texture and shine in the right light.  The word Dragon was part of the image, so I chose to cut that out and center it.

While I generally try to use a sketch for the most part, I ended up winging this one a bit.  I wanted the image to really stick out, so I decided to just go right off the page and have it stick out.  I cut the image out using Labels 8 Spellbinders Die Cut, and sponged with some bronze colored ink.

Papers:  Bo Bunny "Serenity", "Serenity back to backs Blossoms", MME "All Spice" 6x6 pad.
Embellies:  Recollections - Lace on a roll, and brads.  Hemptique "Metallic Classic" twine, charm from stash.  Tim Holz Distress Stickles "Aged Mahogony", Studio g yellow glitter glue.

Looking forward to seeing some major sparkle and shine in your entries, and check back on Monday to see our fabulous winners from our Rainbow Bright Challenge.  Here's hoping some springy weather is right around the corner!
