Corrosive Challenge #196 - Show Us Your Metal

Good morning crafters!  I am SO grateful it's almost April, and that March seems to be following along with coming in like a Lion and going out like a Lamb.  Phew.  I am very ready for some warmer weather, and flowers, and green grass.  At least there is a fun new challenge at The Corrosive Challenge to keep us busy.  We have a fabulous returning sponsor for this one:

Teri has lots of lovely new images for spring, as well as some deviously dark images.  She has generously offered 4 digis to the winner of our new challenge.  Which brings us to our challenge:  Show us your metal!  No, you don't need to have won any awards, or enjoy some hard core rock - just create a project incorporating metal embellishments and/or hardware.

I was lucky enough to be able to work with Quiet Contemplation she is so pretty!  I love all things asian-inspired.
I had the idea to paper piece her robe because I knew I had lots of papers that would fit the bill...not the easiest choice in the long run, but it did come out well after some seriously intricate cutting!  The rest is colored with Copics.  I made a stick pin for her hair using beads from Walmart, and the charm was from Michaels.  All the other embellies are from stash.  My metal accents are the coin brads, corners and the charm.

I hope to see some heavy metal over at The Corrosive Challenge.  Enter for your chance at the awesome prize of 4 digis from the Delicious Doodles shop.

Thanks for stopping by!

Corrosive Challenge #195 - Go Green

Happy St. Patrick's Day weekend!  Hope everyone is enjoying all the green beer and corned beef you could ever wish for :-)
We are always excited to introduce a BRAND NEW sponsor, this time it's The Stamping Chef, the Funny, Quirky, Smexy Bunch!

The winner of this challenge will receive a generous prize of 3 digis!  There are some fabulously sweet, silly, and sexy images to choose from.

This challenge has three options. Select as many as you'd like:

1) use the photo color inspiration (see below)
2) create a St. Patrick's Day project
3) use something recycled on your creation

Photo Inspiration

I had a really hard time choosing an image for this one, there are so many that I liked, but I finally went with Nancy Brew.

I just have a thing for beer wenches, ha ha.  She is colored with Copics, and I added glossy accents to her eyes and the beer mugs, also added a touch of sparkle to the froth on the beers with some yellow glitter.

I ended up using the green photo inspiration, and I added an actual bottle cap to fulfill the "recycled" challenge.  (I am always happy to have a beer in the name of art).

Papers and gems are from stash, the sentiment brad is Studio G Epoxy Brad, the Bow is Recollections, and the button in the bottle cap is Making Memories "Just Chillin" Badge brad.

That's about it!  Hope everyone is blessed with a little Luck of the Irish for St. Paddy's.  Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to enter the new Corrosive Challenge for a chance at a wonderful prize from The Stamping Chef.

Corrosive Challenge 194 - Animals

Done, finished, had it, over it.  There are not enough ways to describe how over this winter I am!  My hands are like sandpaper, I can't remember the last time I wore footwear that wasn't Uggs or snowboots, it's too cold to even try to enjoy all the snow we've gotten.  Ugh.  Just ENOUGH ALREADY!!

At least we have an absolutely adorable sponsor for the new Corrosive Challenge, Meljen's Designs.

Per Artist Melissa Jenkins: "All of my art is hand-drawn with love for you to use in your handmade crafts. I am inspired by my children, life, and things that bring smiles. I hope that my designs can add a touch of sweetness to your day!"

Melissa has offered a generous prize of 4 (non colored) digis to the winner.  The challenge this time around is an easy one, just create a project featuring an animal.

As soon as I saw this Little Hummingbird I just knew I had to use him.  Could be BE any cuter?  This image just makes me smile.

This was made for my Grandmother for her 80th birthday!  I am so lucky she is still here to celebrate with, and we went to a lovely party for her yesterday with some good food, and wonderful memories.

A little late with posting this week, but better late than never, I suppose!

I can't wait to see all the different fuzzy, feathered, wild animal creations at The Corrosive Challenge .

And things are already looking up, as we will escape the potential storm that had been predicted for today earlier last week.  Phew!

Thanks for stopping by,
