SSD Sposorship - Anything Goes

This fortnight Sassy Studio Designs is excited to be a sponser at ATC's and Cards With Attitude.  The challenge is...Anything Goes.  I love these, it's great to just be able to do whatever the heck you want sometimes.  Their rules are very simple and can be found in the sidebar on their page.  This amazing image is Sassy Marie Antoinette, available at the SSD Store.  I love her gorgeous dress and wig, and the feathers.  Marie Antoinette's story is really quite interesting.  I watched the movie with Kirsten Dunst, and if you haven't seen it, it is a good one.  The costumes alone are worth watching, they are stunning.
I colored Marie with copics, and added some little pearls to her hair (a labor of love, those are some tiny little pearls!), and a green one for her earring.  I sponged some red ink on a white doily to pur behind her.  Sketch was from a Dare to be Sassy Thursday Challenge, created by Kathy Curry, she is so talented!

Papers:  Basic Grey - Picadilly/"Lemongrove Ave", and "Flapjack Breakfast"
Embellies:  Celebrate It Ribbon, Recollections brads, Wilton 4-inch Doilies, Simplicity - Sparkle Tulle Red Christmas Trim.
Be sure to stop on over to ATC's and Cards With Attitude for a chance to win some Sassy images of your own!
Sadly, this will be my last card as guest designer.  I have had such a great time being on the SSD Design Team for the month, there have so many totally fabulous new releases (be sure to check them out!).  This group of ladies are so amazingly sweet, supportive and just super talented!  I am very grateful for the opportunity.  Thanks to all of the Sassy team!

SSD Sponsorship - Party Time Tuesdays

This week, Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring the challenge over at Party Time Tuesdays.  The challenge for this week is "Anything Goes".  Can't get much simpler than that, right?  There are a few rules:  Be or become a follower of the PTT blog, post their badge in your sidebar, follow the challenge, mention and link the PTT blog in your post.  Easy!

There have been so many amazing new releases this month at Sassy Studio Designs that I have been very lucky to be able to work with, but I was excited to be able to use any image I wanted for this one.  I have loved this image ever since she was released, Kutie Kim Roller Girl is available in the SSD Shop.  She is such a cutie, I had a lot of fun with this one.  This brought me right back to 5th grade, going to the Roller Rink with my friends.  I had my first "boyfriend" but was afraid to even hold his hands during slow songs.  I would go crazy when they played "Push It" by Salt n't Peppa.  That is my JAM.
This roller skating hottie is colored with Copics, and cut out using a Labels 8 Spellbinder.  I added some stickles to the yellow stripes on her leggings, and glossy accents to her skates.  I sponged a little yellow Studio g chalks ink on the edges.
I did start out with a sketch, but it wasn't really working so I just winged it.  The die ended up taking so much room, I decided to keep it kind of simple.  I had recently picked up both the star stickers and the friends metal sign on clearance at Michaels and knew they would work perfectly.
Paper:  Recollections - "Rainbows" and "Cupcake Cuties" card stock.
Embellies:  Pebbles - Layered Embellishments Stickers, Making Memories - Eclectic Metal Signs/"Friends", Recollections star brads.
Be sure to check out what the Design Team at Party Time Tuesdays comes up with, and play along for a chance to win some Sassy images of your own!

Happy Tuesday :-)

Corrosive Challenge 152 - Summertime Girls

This week was the official start of summer, and boy did summer start!  Temps here in MA were into the high 90's, yowza.  Hopefully no one has melted into a puddle like the Wicked Witch of the West!  In celebration of summertime, this Sunday's assignment at The Corrosive Challenge Blog is "Summertime Girls" - create a "summery" project using a female image.  Our awesome sponsor this month is Mayzy Art, and she has TONS of adorable images that are perfect for this challenge.  I have used Molly and Booboo with frappuccino available as a single image, or as part of the Cafe digi three pack.  This was such a super fun image, she totally looked like a summertime gal on the go, maybe headed to the beach or out for some shopping.  She is colored with Copics, with a combo of glossy accents and stickles on her glasses.
Sketch was # 242 Mojo Monday -
This one will be going to a friend from college for her birthday.  She's a redhead, so I tried to give Molly red hair as well.  This friend just made me the BEST GIFT EVER for my birthday (it's next week).

Is that not the awesomest?  I had seen one on Pinterest, and asked if anyone could make it (it's a sampler) and she knew how to do it.  I had almost forgotten about it, and then it showed up in the mail the other day.  I am so in love with it!  I get such a kick out of such a pretty decoration with a funny or ironic saying on it (this one is from a rap song).

Papers:  Echo Park - Sweet summertime, and a page from the Tahiti Beach Stack.
Embellies:  Recollections flower & brads.  Michaels ribbon.
Punches/Dies:  Pine branch, Memory Box Fauntleroy Crest die, ek Success border punch.

Hope everyone is feeling summery and ready to play along with the new challenge!  Be sure to stop by The Corrosive Challenge Blog to share your entry, and check out all the amazing creations by the design team.  And if you need an image to play along, head on over to Mayzy's Etsy Shop for a great selection of summertime gals.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Sassy In The City - Fabulous Friends

Welcome Sassy crafters!  Today is a super exciting one.  We are celebrating reaching 700 members at the SSD Papercraft Planet Group with a Progressive Challenge featuring a fabulous new release of Sassy in the City images!  Participants will have two days to complete each challenge. Those who complete challenge #1 will receive the next image via e-mail. In order to earn image #3, you will have to participate in a second challenge, then a third challenge to claim image #4, the final image. There will be a winner selected from each of these challenges. There will be a final challenge for the GRAND prize. This challenge will close July 2nd.

Prizes:
Besides earning awesome freebies along the way, there will be a random winner drawn from each challenge's entrants for two SSD images of your choice! For those who make it to the last challenge.... At the end there will be a random drawing for one lucky winner who will receive 4 images from the upcoming July release before they hit the Sassy Studio Designs store! That winner will also be given the opportunity to be our guest new release designer and have a creation they make using one of those July images featured on the Sassy Studio Designs blog on release day! In addition, fans can win by commenting on the challenges! We will be drawing two random winners for a SSD image of choice just for leaving some love.

PCP Fun:
We'll have festivities there as well with trivia, more prizes, and chit chat.
The first image available to everyone (for a limited time only though!) to start the progressive challenge is Charlotte.  Isn't she great?  For the first challenge, we want to see a creation focused on friendship.  I definitely have some Charlotte-esque traits, so I was excited to be able to work with her.  I knew for sure I wanted to paper piece her dress, and the first thing that came to mind was black and white polks dots.  Then I found the aqua paper with the little black bows (part of a stack at Michaels) and it just screamed Charlotte to me...it reminded me of Tiffany's signature box, and the bows are very demure and lady-like.  The rest of her is colored with Copics, fussy cut and popped up.  Once again, I ran out of room on the front for the sentiment, so I turned into an easel card, so I could be sure to get the sentiment featured somehow.  I love this one.  And I definitely have a lot of shoes!
Week 212 - Sketch Saturday
Papers:  Recollections, and Stampin' Up cardstock
Embellies:  Recollections and WOC flowers.
Punches:  Corner punch
Challenges: Dilly Beans Dots Challenge

Whew!  I think I covered everything.  We are super excited to see what everyone does with these new releases.  Be sure to visit the SSD Papercraft Planet Group to join in the festivities, and don't forget to stop by Sassy Studio Designs blog to see what we have been up to for the month of June.  There have already been 4 mini releases that are avaialable in the SSD Shop.  Both Lindsay and the Design Team have been very busy!
Looking forward to the celebration and can't wait to see all the fantastic entries!

Dilly Beans Dots Challenge

This is just a quickie.  This week at Dilly Beans Challenge Blog is to use dots.  I wanted to make a bookmark for a friend that I will be giving a book to for her birthday, and knew I wanted to use a Dilly Beans image, and figured I could work some polka dots in.  The image is available at the Dilly Beans Shop.  Megan also just added 12 fantastic new stamps to the digi store!  Right now, if you purchase all 12 images, you can recieve 6 FREE digi's of your choice.  Pretty awesome deal.

My image is colored with Copics, and I added some stickles to the flowers and her eyelids.  I just took an Avery peel & stick laminating sheet and stuck the book mark in the middle.  Ribbon was actually re-used from a gift my friend that this is going to just sent me (it has polka dots too)!  Reduce, re-use, recycle, right?
Papers:  Recollections black and white polka dots, and Cupcake cuties cardstock.
The excessive heat has finally broken here, and it's more like a perfect summery day.  I'm hoping to get a little gardening in tomorrow, the weeds are starting to take over, and I need to do some dead-heading.  I love all the flowers in summer.
Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend.

SSD Fabulous Freebie Friday!

This week at SSD Papercraft Planet Group we are celebrating the official start of summer (June 20th).  And boy was it a HOT start, not that I am complaining!  I love summer, it is definitely my favorite season.  Our Fabulous Freebie for this Friday is Soda Pop.  Isn't she adorable?  In honor of the start of summer, the challenge is "Summer Shades" - use Summery colors.
I colored Sassy Soda Pop with Copics, and added small pearls for buttons, and of course, Inkssentials Glossy Accents to the soda bottle (I may need an intervention for Glossy Accents soon, LOL!).  As soon as I saw the image I knew I wanted to incorporate a bottle cap, so I made sure to have my Hubby save some for me (he was more than happy to oblige by having a few beers).  I placed an American Crafts Flair "Postcards" button in the bottle cap.
Sketch was #123 Operation Write Home, flipped vertical to work with the image.
Papers:  Basic Grey - Picadilly/Flapjack Breakfast
Embellies:  Sunflower Yellow Queen & Co Rhinestones, Ribbon, green rhinestones, from stash, WOC & Recollections flowers.

We'd love to see your sunny, summery projects at the SSD Papercraft Planet Group.  Soda Pop is only available for 24 hours, so be sure to stop by and snag her before she's gone!  Don't forget to come by next week for a very special Sassy in the City release and party, you will not want to miss it!  There is an anniversary celebration all month long at Sassy Studio Designs and at the SSD Papercraft Planet Group, be sure to check out all the new releases and join in the festivities!

Thanks for stopping by!

DTBST - Fun In The Sun!

This week for Dare to be Sassy Thursdays, the theme is "Fun in the Sun", and a little extra challenge to use monochromatic yellow for your project.
This sexy beach babe is part of one of the new releases this month at Sassy Studio Designs.  She is from week 2 of mini releases, called Beach Resort Sassy and is available now in the SSD shop.  While you are there, be sure to check out week 3 release of June Weddings images, they are gorgeous, and Sassy of course!  Here is another view, I have now officially become addicted to making easel cards, since I almost always run out of space for a sentiment on the front of my cards.

Sketch is # 147 from Hanna and Friends how funny is it that it is by someone named Jasmin?  Spelled differently than me, but I don't actually run into too many other Jasmine's out there.
Beach Resort Sassy is colored with copics, fussy cut and popped up with foam dots.  I added Inkssentials glossy accents to her fabulous glasses.
Papers:  Basic Grey - Picadilly / Flapjack Breakfast
Embellies:  Sunflower yellow Queen & Co Rhinestones, WOC roses.

The weather is going to definitely feel like summer this week!  Hopefully that will inspire you to join the challenge, and be sure to stop by Sassy Studio Designs this weekend to see the newest mini release, you don't want to miss it!
Hope everyone has a chance to have some fun in the sun this week!

Super Duper Father's Day Extravaganza

Holidays for me mean making LOTS of cards.  Father's Day is no exception.  I have my dad, a stepfather, a father-in-law, and my Grandfather to make cards for, as well as my husband (and my son informed me I need to make one for him too, because he is the father of his stuffed animals!  Too cute.)  I'm going to keep this relatively short and sweet, here are all the cards for all the dads:

For my step-dad:
Image was found doing a Google search for tennis player, and this one from illustrator Mark Kingsley Brown popped up.
For my father-in-law:
This sexy pirate also found doing Google search, ended up at Deviantart, then to this artist http://bettieboner.deviantart.com/gallery/#, I actually don't see her anymore, but she has some other fantastic images as well.
For my Grandfather:

Image from A Day for Daisies, available here Wild Bird.
This was my first easel card, and I was so happy how it came out, I will definitely be doing more of these...as a matter of fact, I decided to change my dad's card into an easel style as well:
Another Google search.  Grateful Guitar Player was the result!  Perfect for my guitar playing, hippie dad :-)

That's all for now, I hope all the dad's out there are having a fantastic day, it sure is a beautiful one here in MA.  Blue skies, sunshine, but not too hot.  Looking forward to a little grillin' for dinner  - yes, I am putting the hubby to work on Father's Day, terrible, aren't I?  He loves it though, beer in one hand, grillin' tool in the other, meat on fire, and he's a happy guy.

Happy Sunday.

Corrosive Challenge # 151 - Feeling Punchy

No, we don't want you to put on your boxing gloves!  This week's Corrosive Challenge is is to use 2 or more punches and/or dies on your creation.  Our new sponsor this month is Mayzy Art who is a newer designer, but gaining quickly in popularity.  Her images are super fun, and cute, and she is always adding new ones to her Etsy store, you should definitely check it out.  She very generously let the DT choose an image, it was hard to choose, but I decided to go with Digi Dancers Disco for my card.  I am a bit of a disco diva at heart, I have always loved disco music.  I think it gets a bad rap for some reason, but I really think it pioneered the way for modern day dance and electronic music.  I had a recipient in mind for this one as well, my old roommate from college whom I still stay in touch with.  We used to go to a regular disco night party at one of the local bars, and many nights I would dress for the occasion in my finest polyester.  Ahhh, memories!  LOL.
For the challenge, I used Spellbinders Classic Ovals, Standard Circles, and a McGill Pine Branch Punch.  My disco dancer is colored with Copics, fussy cut and popped up with foam squares.  This was my first attempt at coloring African American skin tones, this was going to be my practice image, but I thought it came out pretty good on the first try so I just went with it.  I love her afro, I wish I could have funky big hair like that, but I have super straight fine hair.  I found the disco ball image from a Google search, and added some stickles to them.  Sketch was Card Patterns - # 166 that I just flipped to be vertical instead.

Papers:  DCWV Premium Stacks - "Downtown Loft" stack and "Tahiti Beach" stack.
Embellies:  Recollections and WOC Flowers, Michaels ribbon

I had so much fun with this one, come get punchy and play along with us at The Corrosive Challenge for your chance to win some images from Mayzy.

Sassy Studio Mini Release - Beach Party!

Good morning, and welcome to the 2nd Sassy Studio Designs Saturday Release Blog Hop for June! If you hopped here from the fabulous Regan's Blog you are right on target! If you happened by via another route, then you are in for a fun time and can join in on the Blog Hop for Sassy Studio Designs June Releases to check out the new images, and see what the design team came up with - just pop over to the Sassy Studio Designs Blog to get started.  Be sure to bring your sunglasses and beach bag!
This week, Lindsay has created some super cute beach babes.  This one is called Polka Dot Bikini, how adorable is she?  I sure wish I could rock a bikini like that, but alas my bikini days are over.  This new release had me thinking about the beach, and some of my favorite beach movies.  I think my favorite has to be The Beach, with Leonardo DiCaprio (I <3 him!).  It's about a tourist in Thailand that receives a map from a fellow tourist, the map is supposed to lead to a hidden beach that is the ultimate paradise, but all is not quite as perfect as it seems.  The movie was filmed in Thailand and the scenery is just breathtaking, I definitely would not mind spending some time at that beach.  This is a picture from where it was filmed:
Amazing, right?!
I colored my image with Copics, and added Inkssentials Glossy Accents to the beach ball (I love this stuff, can't believe I never used it until recently!).  It's a little hard to see, but I added yellow stickles to her polka dots too.  She is fussy cut and popped up with 3d Dots (shocking, I know).
Sketch is #268 at Card Positioning Systems that I re-worked a little bit.  I think I can just make the challenge for the week.
Papers:  MME - "Tropical" and "Blue Waves"
Embellies:  Recollections brads, ribbon, and flower.  Memory Box - "Fauntleroy Crest Die".  Queen + Co pearl for her earring.

Be sure to stop by the Sassy Studio Designs Blog to check out all the new images.  Leave some love in the comments for your chance to win one of these beauties!  Thanks for stopping by, and hope we get some beach weather soon, my tan is starting to fade.

DTBST - Add a splash

Good morning Sassy crafters!  This week's challenge for Dare To Be Sassy Thursdays at Sassy Studio Designs is to add a splash of something wet to your creation - crystal effects, stickles, glaze, etc.  I had never used a liquid glaze before (I used Inkssentials Glossy Accents), but I picked some up just for the challenge.  I must say it is a very cool effect, especially perfect for a glass, like the one this Sassy Martini girl is resting in.  Have you seen the new Sassy images yet?  If not, you must check them out!  Martini was part of a a mini release, she and 2 other equally fabulous ladies are available at the Sassy Studio Designs shop.  She is colored with Copics, and then I used the Glossy Accents on both glasses.  The sentiment was a freebie I have had for awhile now.  The feathers were on clearance at Jo-Ann, so of course I had to scoop them up!  Sketch was #208 at Sketch Saturday :

Papers:  Recollections "Itsy Bitsy Ditsy - Pistachio", and an older Valentine set from Stampin' Up.
Embellies:  BBP Twisted Flowers, Ribbon & small black rhinestone (for her earring) from stash.

We'd love for you to play along and enter the Challenge, the lucky winner will receive 2 Sassy Studio images of your choice!  Be sure to check in often this month, as Sassy Studio Designs is celebrating it's 3 year anniversary, and will be celebrating all month long with new mini releases!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a wonderful day!

Sassy Saturday Ladies Night

Hello and welcome to the Sassy Studio Designs Saturday Release Blog Hop!  If you have arrived here from the amazingly talented Shari's Blog then you are right on target! If you happened by via another route, then you are in for a fun time and can join in on the Blog Hop for Sassy Studio Designs June Releases to check out the new images, and see what the design team came up with - just head over to the Sassy Studio Designs Blog to get started!
"If you like Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the rain..."  This song was running through my mind the entire time I was making this card.  It always reminds me of a movie called The Sweetest Thing with Cameron Diaz and Christina Applegate, it's definitely a chick flick, but it's also quite raunchy and could hang with some of the "dude flicks" out there.  Speaking of chicks, this weekend over at Sassy Studio Designs we are celebrating Ladies Night.  Whether it's a night spent crafting together, a night on the town, or a night with Mojitos in the back yard, I always have a blast when I am with my girlfriends.  There's just something different about the dynamic with your girls that the boys will never understand (but we still love them anyways, lol).
This month there is a month long celebration at SSD! Not only is it the anniversary of SSD, but it is also owner and artist Lindsay’s anniversary month.  There will be a mini release each weekend, so make sure you stop by to check them out!
This image is part of a new release called Pina Colada Pin Up.  All of the new releases this week are so cute, you will not be disappointed!  She is colored with copics, with a little bit of stickles added to the glass, and the edges are sponged with yellow Studio g Chalks ink.  I just so happened to have a box of real drink umbrellas and was determined to add one.  I was furrowing my brow trying to figure out how to make it work, but the toothpick was too long, then my ever patient hubby told me to just cut off the toothpick and voila!  I love him, we make a great team!
Sketch was from There She Goes - # 157 I liked that it was relatively simple since there was kind of a lot going on with the image.
Paper is Recollections - "Drink Umbrellas", and from stash, Michaels ribbon, WOC cherry blossom flowers, and a small Martha Stewart umbrella sticker from "Tropical Lantern" pack.

I am so honored and thrilled to be guest designer for the month of June, it is going to be an exciting one!  Be sure to stop by the Sassy Studio Designs blog all month long to join the celebration!  Want to win one of these fabulous new images?  Just leave some love throughout the blog hop, and one lucky commenter will receive the image of her choice!

Have a great weekend, and give your girls a call!
