Give Piece a Chance

Welcome to another Corrosive Challenge.  This week was truly a challenge for me, as the requirement was to incorporate paper piecing which I have never done before.  This month's sponsor is Sassy Studio Designs, whom I love, and use often.  This time, I decided to use an image I had purchased from Blue Butterfly Stamps Once Upon a Time collection.  I paper pieced her boots (bonus challenge was to use green!) and her basket, and I must say it came out pretty cool, especially the basket.  My Grandmother's birthday is in March, so I will be gifting this card to her, I also realized I have 3 other birthday cards to make within the 1st 2wks of March YIKES!  I am a bit of a slow poke, but I have been plugging away, so hopefully I'll get them all done.

Papers used are Farm Fresh Eggs and Lemongrove Avenue by Basic Grey, and the red polka dots is from the Paper Heart Collection by cratepaper.com.  There was a sale at Ink About It recently, I just went in for a few things and....well, you know how that goes...6 Copics, 6 bottles of Stickles, and about 20 sheets of paper later, I finally forced myself to leave!  Ribbon is from a gift again, brads and flowers from Michaels, and the butterfly sticker is Martha Stewart.  Sketch was from week # 194 at Sketch Saturday, this has become my go to place for a sketch lately, I am trying not to use the same ones all the time, although I never seem to get a card done in time to enter the actual challenge.  Baby steps!

I think I ended up picking this image not only because she's so cute, also because I have springtime on my mind, can you believe it's already March?!  Flowers and strawberries and the warm weather is right around the corner!  Thanks for stopping by, and hope to see your creations at The Corrosive Challenge Blog!
