Corrosive Challenge # 208 - Fall/Autumn

The air is beginning to have that chill in it, leaves are starting to turn, the kids are back to school (my son has his first seasonal cold, oh joy!), football is on the TV.  Pumpkins, apples and candy are all out in the store.  Fall has officially arrived!  It was a pretty easy choice for the new Corrosive Challenge to ring in the fall season...create an Autumn/Fall themed project.  I was so excited  to welcome back The Paper Shelter as the fab sponsor for the new challenge over at The Corrosive Challenge.  They have a growing collection of adorable, fun, sweet images that have clean lines, excellent print quality, and you even get a colored version with your order!

There are so many perfect images available at The Paper Shelter it's hard to choose just one.  The team was lucky enough to be able to choose from two images Autumn Attitude and Autumn Leaves.
I thought Autumn Leaves would make a perfect card for my son's new teacher for a little beginning of the year gift.
The image is colored with Copics, with a little glitter added to the leaves and butterfly.  I used a cloud shape I cut out of card stock and sponged the background using Adirondack "Cloudy Blue" ink. The brads, and embellies are all part of my stash.  Flowers are a combo of Wild Orchid and Recollections.  Papers are from DCWV "The Wild Splendor" stack.

Now it's time for you to share your festive fall creations over at The Corrosive Challenge.  The lucky winner of this challenge will receive a $20 gift certificate to the Paper Shelter store!  Find a warm and cozy spot, and get your crafty on!

Thanks for stopping by.

Corrosive Challenge # 207 - Let's Hear It For the Boys

Happy Labor Day Weekend!  I love nothing more than a shorter week at work, and an extra day with the family.  We were busy this week with my son starting first grade, and the hubby in his second week at a new job!  It was a little crazy getting used to all the new schedules, but we made it, and are enjoying both some fun and taking care of business this weekend.

The Corrosive Challenge has a fun new challenge for you all, "Let's Hear It For The Boys" - create a masculine project, something for a guy of any age.  Sometimes the men and boys don't get enough attention, so this one's for the fellas!

A new challenge means a new sponsor, and The Corrosive Challenge has a wonderful company lined up!  Please welcome back Meljen's Designs!

Meljen's Designs
Here is a little about them in their own words:
Meljen's Designs is a lovely stamp company owned and illustrated by
Melissa Jenkins. She illustrates whimsical rubber and digital images inspired by her kids and family. Meljen's Designs has a new challenge every Thursday, and a Guest Designer each month at the Meljen's Designs Blog. Please visit the adorable line of Meljen's Designs stamps at our store HERE to browse all of Melissa's lovely designs! You can also see Melissa's exclusive rubber stamps at her corner of Whimsy Stamps, too! Don't forget to join Meljen's Designs on Facebook HERE to take advantage of special sales and promotions that are just for her facebook fans!

They have generously offered a prize of 4 (non colored) images for our winner!

We got to pick from several images, and I got to work with Sports Fan Teddy isn't he the cutest?
Teddy is colored with Copics, and popped up with foam dots.  I kept this one pretty simple, cuz lots of flowers and embellies aren't manly, right?  I think I will be giving this one to my Grampy for his birthday, and he is an avid golfer and fan of the sport.

The golf ball and green are buttons I have had forever, the ticket is Tim Holtz, and the papers and ribbon are from my stash as well.  Sometimes it's nice to do a relatively clean and simple card for a change!

That's about it.  I can't wait to check out what awesome projects everyone has made for the men and boys in their life.  Be sure to join us at The Corrosive Challenge for a chance to win some of these adorable digis for yourself.

Thanks for stopping by!

Be sure to join us at the Corrosive challenge.

Corrosive Challenge # 203 - Forever Young

Happy Fourth of July weekend to all of our stateside fans!  Hurricane Arthur put a little bit of a damper on some things, but we hope you all had a wonderful weekend overall.  We have a fun new challenge for you at The Corrosive Challenge Blog, sponsored by A & T Designs, home of the Emerald Faeries. The theme is "forever young" - Create a project for a baby, child, or even the young at heart.

A & T Digital Designs

These faeries are just the sweetest, most darling images!  The team had four to choose from for this one.  It was no easy task choosing, but I had a recipient in mind for this one who loves to read, and her twin girls have become avid readers as well, so I went with Bindie.

I just love how this turned out!  I pulled out another old sketch from a folder I have full of them, from Sketch Saturday.

She is colored with Copics, and I cut out a cloud shape and sponged the sky with some ink.  I printed the image twice, and cut out and popped up the lady bugs and dragonfly for a little more dimension.  Papers were from stash, the floral one is Echo Park "Sweet Summertime" and the rainbow stripe is Recollections.  The "So Happy" is a Studio G epoxy brad.

I hope everyone's 4th of July plans weren't ruined completely, I know I enjoyed a day to just be at home and get some crafting, cleaning, and family time in.  Looking forward to seeing some "Forever Young" entries at The Corrosive Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!

Corrosive Challenge # 202 - Color Me Happy

Good morning everyone!  After a long day hosting a yard sale, I had a few finishing touches for my project for a new Corrosive Challenge. Yard sales are always interesting...there's the early birds, the drive-bys, the bargain hunters, and those who are just out and about for the day.  We ended up making a few bucks, and getting rid of some stuff, so all in all a success!

This time around, we have a new challenge and not one but TWO amazing sponsors!  Which means we will also have TWO winners!

  Prize - 3 digis

Prize - $10 gift voucher

Our theme is "Color Me Happy" - use your favorite coloring medium:  Copics, pencils, Prisma you name it!

I only recently discovered Aurora Wings stamps, and they are just GORGEOUS!  I chose to work with Girl with Poppies isn't she just lovely?

She is colored with Copics, with some black glitter and a yellow bead added to the poppies.  Brads and flowers are Recollections, charm is Studio g, and the corner stickers are Momenta.  papers are both from  DCWV "The Wild Splendor" stack.

I really do adore this artist, and look forward to working with more of her images soon.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and be sure to enter the new challenge for a chance at a prize from one of our amazing sponsors.

Hey Dog

Despite my lack of blogging, I actually have been making some other cards in between Corrosive Challenges.  My cousin and co-worker celebrated his birthday last week, and loves to make a big deal of his special day, so I had to make him a special card.  We have a running joke at the office, where he does a spot-on impression of Any Samberg doing an impression of Mark Wahlberg talking to animals - if you haven't seen the skit, you have to watch it That was my inspiration.

Once I had the idea I knew that Kenny K's Col. Macallan was perfect.  I love this angry little Bulldog!  LOL.

He is colored with Copics, with some glossy accents added to the clock, goggles, eyes and nose.  All of the papers and embellies are from stash, and the sentiment was computer generated.

Had some good luck that this will fit perfectly for the new challenge over at Kenny K's Krafty Krew   "Anything Goes" with a twist "Brown".  I haven't entered a challenge in FOREVER so this was a great opportunity.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Father's Day weekend, and we'll see you soon for another fabulous Corrosive Challenge!

Challenge # 201 Crop It or Cut It

Welcome back!  Thanks so much to all those that stopped by for The Corrosive Challenge's 200th Celebration!  I am behind the ball a little with my post, as I was away over the weekend for my friend from College's wedding.  We were roomies for a long time, and had SO much fun together.  I am so thrilled for her.
Time for a new challenge already.  I was so delighted that once again we are working with Lacy Sunshine!  Heather Valentin is the talented artist behind these cuties!  You can read all about her HERE!  Lacy Sunshine just premiered its very own online digital magazine on June 1st!  You can purchase your yearly or quarterly subscriptions HERE!

A prize of 3 digis is up for grabs!  The theme for the challenge is "Crop It or Cut It".  This means you must crop and/or cut your image in some way.  Break out the scissors and the die cuts and let's see your fanciest of fussy cutting!

I was able to choose a digi, I have a serious thing for mermaids, so I went with Shelly Sunkissed Mermaid .  Love her!  She is colored with Copics, with some Stickles added to her tail, and some little adhesive pearls as well.  She is fussy cut and popped up with foam squares.  Most materials are from stash.  The floral papers are from Recollections "Today Tomorrow Forever" Pad (again!  LOL), I think the wave one was Bo Bunny.

Hope to see lots of creative cutting and cropping for our new challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!

You should have arrived here from Debora's blog (her post will be coming a little later in the week).  She is an AMAZINGLY talented lady!  And I think she may have one of the best crafty stashes around, she always has the perfect trinkets for her gorgeous creations.

Each team member had a chance to work with different sponsors.  I was lucky enough to get to work with Sami Stamps again!  Sami Siemers Ratliff is the owner of Sami Stamps, and if the images look a little familiar it is because she is Tammy from A Day For Daisies little sister.  So much talent in one family!

The winner chosen from my comments will receive the generous prize of a $12 Gift Certificate to the shop.

Anything goes for our 200th Challenge celebration!  I worked with the image called Sunny Spot I just love these sweet foxes.  It makes me want to curl up and take a nap in the sun somewhere.

The image is colored with Copics, with a stippled background (I have a problem with white space, lol.)  Papers are from Recollections "Today Tomorrow Forever" Pad I just got on clearance, I LOVE this pad of paper, the colors, and patterns are all so pretty.  Flower is K & Company Margo Paper Flower Brad, Metal corners are by Momenta, and the die cut is Memory Box Fauntleroy Crest.  I used an old sketch I had printed out for the layout.

Next up is the lovely Julie be sure to stop by and leave her some love!

Corrosive Challenge # 199 - Banner Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms, grandmothers, step-mothers, or just wonderful women who touch the lives of those around you.  Hope all of you are spoiled by your loved ones today!

The Corrosive Challenge Blog is excited to welcome a brand new sponsor for their new challenge!

Sami Siemers Ratliff is the owner of Sami Stamps, and if the images look a little familiar it is because she is Tammy from A Day For Daisies little sister.  So much talent in one family!  Sami has a Bachelor's Degree in Illustration.  Per her blog: http://samistamp.blogspot.com/, "My inspiration comes from those things around me that make me happy in hopes that it might brighten your day.  We believe in surrounding yourself with the things that inspire and make you happy."

Sami is offering the winner the generous prize of a $12 Gift Certificate to her shop.  The theme for this challenge is "Banner Day" - use a banner on your creation.

We were all lucky enough to be able to choose an image to work with.  I chose Bird Beauty.

I loved the example photo so much I pretty much cased this design.

All supplies are from stash.  I ended up making an easel card, since I couldn't quite make a banner work on the front.  I just think she's so lovely and peaceful.

So what do you say?  Let your flags, pennants and banners fly, and join us over at The Corrosive Challenge Blog for the chance at a fabulous prize from Sami Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by!

Corrosive Challenge # 197 - Pretty Pastels

Good morning!  The birds are chirping, crocuses and daffodils are blooming, and the snow and ice has been washed away by April showers.  I was so excited that we are working with The Paper Shelter as our fab sponsor for the new challenge.  They have a growing collection of adorable, fun, sweet images that have clean lines, excellent print quality, and you even get a colored version with your order!

Since spring seems to be in the air for most folks, the theme for the new challenge is "Pretty Pastels" - create a project featuring pastel colors.  There are so many perfect images available at The Paper Shelter it's hard to choose just one.  The team was lucky enough to be able to choose between two images.  I worked with So Pretty!
She is colored with Copics, with a little sparkle added to her compact and lipstick.  I realized when looking at my papers...I don't really do pastels, but I thought the light gray and yellow would pass.
The sentiment was part of a set by TPC Studio called "Eau de Toilette", I just picked them up at Jo-Anns on clearance, I think they were only 97 cents!  The daisies are K & Co Daises sticker medley, the bow is Recollections (I adore these little bows), all the rest is from stash.

Be sure to join us at The Corrosive Challenge for a chance at a fabulous prize!

Thanks for stopping by,

Corrosive Challenge #196 - Show Us Your Metal

Good morning crafters!  I am SO grateful it's almost April, and that March seems to be following along with coming in like a Lion and going out like a Lamb.  Phew.  I am very ready for some warmer weather, and flowers, and green grass.  At least there is a fun new challenge at The Corrosive Challenge to keep us busy.  We have a fabulous returning sponsor for this one:

http://deliciousdoodles.blogspot.com/

Teri has lots of lovely new images for spring, as well as some deviously dark images.  She has generously offered 4 digis to the winner of our new challenge.  Which brings us to our challenge:  Show us your metal!  No, you don't need to have won any awards, or enjoy some hard core rock - just create a project incorporating metal embellishments and/or hardware.

I was lucky enough to be able to work with Quiet Contemplation she is so pretty!  I love all things asian-inspired.
I had the idea to paper piece her robe because I knew I had lots of papers that would fit the bill...not the easiest choice in the long run, but it did come out well after some seriously intricate cutting!  The rest is colored with Copics.  I made a stick pin for her hair using beads from Walmart, and the charm was from Michaels.  All the other embellies are from stash.  My metal accents are the coin brads, corners and the charm.

I hope to see some heavy metal over at The Corrosive Challenge.  Enter for your chance at the awesome prize of 4 digis from the Delicious Doodles shop.

Thanks for stopping by!

Corrosive Challenge #195 - Go Green

Happy St. Patrick's Day weekend!  Hope everyone is enjoying all the green beer and corned beef you could ever wish for :-)
We are always excited to introduce a BRAND NEW sponsor, this time it's The Stamping Chef, the Funny, Quirky, Smexy Bunch!

The winner of this challenge will receive a generous prize of 3 digis!  There are some fabulously sweet, silly, and sexy images to choose from.

This challenge has three options. Select as many as you'd like:

1) use the photo color inspiration (see below)
2) create a St. Patrick's Day project
3) use something recycled on your creation

Photo Inspiration

I had a really hard time choosing an image for this one, there are so many that I liked, but I finally went with Nancy Brew.

I just have a thing for beer wenches, ha ha.  She is colored with Copics, and I added glossy accents to her eyes and the beer mugs, also added a touch of sparkle to the froth on the beers with some yellow glitter.

I ended up using the green photo inspiration, and I added an actual bottle cap to fulfill the "recycled" challenge.  (I am always happy to have a beer in the name of art).

Papers and gems are from stash, the sentiment brad is Studio G Epoxy Brad, the Bow is Recollections, and the button in the bottle cap is Making Memories "Just Chillin" Badge brad.

That's about it!  Hope everyone is blessed with a little Luck of the Irish for St. Paddy's.  Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to enter the new Corrosive Challenge for a chance at a wonderful prize from The Stamping Chef.

Corrosive Challenge 194 - Animals

Done, finished, had it, over it.  There are not enough ways to describe how over this winter I am!  My hands are like sandpaper, I can't remember the last time I wore footwear that wasn't Uggs or snowboots, it's too cold to even try to enjoy all the snow we've gotten.  Ugh.  Just ENOUGH ALREADY!!

At least we have an absolutely adorable sponsor for the new Corrosive Challenge, Meljen's Designs.

Per Artist Melissa Jenkins: "All of my art is hand-drawn with love for you to use in your handmade crafts. I am inspired by my children, life, and things that bring smiles. I hope that my designs can add a touch of sweetness to your day!"

Melissa has offered a generous prize of 4 (non colored) digis to the winner.  The challenge this time around is an easy one, just create a project featuring an animal.

As soon as I saw this Little Hummingbird I just knew I had to use him.  Could be BE any cuter?  This image just makes me smile.

This was made for my Grandmother for her 80th birthday!  I am so lucky she is still here to celebrate with, and we went to a lovely party for her yesterday with some good food, and wonderful memories.

A little late with posting this week, but better late than never, I suppose!

I can't wait to see all the different fuzzy, feathered, wild animal creations at The Corrosive Challenge .

And things are already looking up, as we will escape the potential storm that had been predicted for today earlier last week.  Phew!

Thanks for stopping by,

Jasmine

Corrosive Challenge 192 - Feel the Love

Hello again.  I've been a little behind on my duties lately.  Last week was a long and sad one for me and my family.  We had found out last Sunday that my cousin Shawn who was only 40 passed away in his sleep.  He was a tough guy on the outside, but he was really just a big teddy bear who would do anything for anyone, anytime.  We were very close when we were younger, he baby sat me, and I just adored him and followed him around like a little puppy dog.  The number of people that came to the wake, and left heartfelt messages was just overwhelming.  He will be deeply missed, and we're all still processing everything.  But we have each other, and lots of very funny and fond memories.

Aside from that, it's been so horribly cold, I just can't wait for this winter to be over! At least February has a holiday that's conducive to snuggling up and staying warm.  Valentine's Day, of course.  We also have a hot returning sponsor.Sassy Studio Designs is a fresh and fun company that has been designing and selling for over 3 years now.  Owner Lindsay started designing images shortly after she started stamping.  She designs fun, sexy images that fans enjoy using and friends and significant others enjoy receiving.  In June 2009 thanks to the few faithful followers she had, Sassy Studio Designs was born! She still tries to be Lindsay Dyer: keeping with her original philosophy and reason for designing stamps, make them fun, and keep them sassy...and yes sometimes even sexy!

What better sponsor could we have for our new challenge, "Feel the Love" - create a Valentine's Day project for the upcoming holiday.  I worked with Wednesday Sara Addams for a darker, funnier card.

I had an idea in my mind for this one, and just winged it.  The sentiment was computer generated.  She is colored with Copics, and I made the stick pin.  Supplies were all from stash.

Hope everyone is staying warm, and since we're all cooped up inside (with more snow coming!), it's a perfect chance to enter the new challenge at The Corrosive Challenge .

Thanks for stopping by,

Jasmine

Corrosive Challenge #191 - All Work and No Play

Hello again!  Hard to believe we are already well into January, and things are back to normal after the holidays.

Since the New Year often involves getting back to work, our new challenge is to use an image depicting a job or career.  I am always thrilled to work with our sponsor for this challenge, sexy, cute, and sassy Kenny K!

Stamps from Kenny K are a fun and edgy way to add the perfect dose of attitude and style to all of your creations!  The winner of the challenge will receive a prize of 3 digi stamps!

I chose to work with Hot Fuzz (I love that name, lol).  And she is definitely a hot one!

She is colored with Copics, and glossy accents added to her lips, glasses and the brim of her hat (the gloss doesn't show in the photos really, I need to work on my photographing me thinks.)  The sentiment is computer generated and courtesy of a google search for "funny police sayings".

Sketch was #284 at Sketch Saturday

Papers and flowers are from stash, key is vintage metal by Colorbok, rhinestone flourish is Recollections.
Looking forward to seeing all the entries at The Corrosive Challenge!

Thanks for stopping by.

Corrosive Challenge # 190 - New Beginnings

Happy New Year!  Man, the holidays fly by, I swear you blink and they are over.  The fam and I had a great Christmas and New Years Eve, but it's always a little relief to get back to normal.  That means a new challenge over at The Corrosive Challenge Blog .  We are always pleased to welcome back A Day For Daisies as our sponsor.

A Day For Daisies (also known as ADFD) provides themed categories of over 1000 digital illustrations, including fairy tales and magical mermaids, cutie kids, vintage illustrations, sentiments and lovely designs for all occasions. Be sure to check out what is available in the shop, and head over to the blog for some awesome inspiration!  ADFD has also opened a new clear polymer shop featuring "most loved" images sold as sets.  Check out their lovely selection HERE!

In honor of the new year, our theme for the challenge is "New Beginnings" - wedding, graduation, new baby, Baptism, spring, you get the idea.

I chose Morning Dew Fairy to work with, she is so sweet.  I was thinking along the lines of a "new day" for my card.

She is colored with Copics, with Stickles added to her wings, and glossy accents added to the dew drops.  Combination of Recollections and Wild Orchid flowers/butterflies/pearls.  I made a stick pin using supplies from Walmart!  They have an ever growing Paper Crafting section that comes in very handy for last minute or spur of the moment needs.

A closer view:

It's actually really funny when I got done with my card, I started having a Deja Vu moment, then I looked back at another ADFD card I had made...
Look familiar?  LOL.  Leave it to me to choose the same paper, color scheme, and embellies for the most part!  Someone, break me out of my comfort zone, ASAP!  Maybe I'll give it to my mom again, and they can be companion pieces, haha.

Hope to see lots of fantastic "new" entries!

Thanks for stopping by,

Jasmine
