Happy Sunday, blogland. I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend, and enjoying the lovely weather we've been having (at least here in New England). Just last week I enjoyed a week off from work, and a visit with my mom up from Florida. It was wonderful. We also got a new puppy!! My dear dog Snickers had to be put down back in October (he was 13 and lived a long and happy life). I finally decided I was ready for a new furry friend and finally found "the one" during a visit to the Sterling Animal Shelter. His name is Cooper and over all, he is a really good boy, and so much fun to have around.
He is growing and learning fast, and I am so grateful to have adopted him!
I am also ALWAYS glad when we welcome back a fantastic sponsor: Kenny K!
Stamps from Kenny K are a fun and edgy way to add the perfect dose of attitude and style to all of your creations! The winner of the challenge will win a prize of 5 digi stamps!
In honor of 3 new hotties added to their Steampunk Burlesque line of stamps, the new Corrosive Challenge simply "Steampunk". Create a project with a steampunk theme. As they describe it, over at Kenny K "anything that is ornately embellished, with crazy amounts of fun and intricate Victorian-era detail - while retaining a modern rebellious attitude!"
Now, I'm not gonna lie, I'm not the hugest fan of the whole steampunk thing...I guess maybe I just don't really get it, or maybe it's just not my style BUT when I saw the selection of images we could use, I had a hard time choosing, and realized that I could totally make things work, and just in time for an anniversary card for my hubby (Sept 3rd - 8 years!)
Paige Parisol is colored with Copics, fussy cut and popped up with foam dots. I added some glossy accents to her eyes, lips and the buttons on her gloves and boots.
I didn't end up using a sketch, so of course it took me twice as long, lol. But I am pretty happy with the results.
Papers: K & Company "Life's Journey" paper pad.
Embellies: Colorbok metal keys, Ki Memories self adhesive metal accents, Light Mink Seam Binding, WOC Roses. Button, metal corner and metal sentiment from stash. Hemptique metal accents twine.
Get those gears in motion, and be sure to join us at the Corrosive Challenge for a chance at an awesome prize from a fabulous sponsor!
