Corrosive Challenge 168 - Rainbow Bright

That time again folks!  A new fortnight, and a new Corrosive Challenge.  Be sure to check on Monday as well to see our winners post!  There were so many amazing entries for our Heart and Flowers Challenge.  This time around, we want you to use your favorite color combo, anything under the rainbow.

We also have yet another fantastic sponsor:  Kenny K!  These are my go to choice for any card for my hubby.  They are the perfect mix of cute, sassy and sexy.  This one I'll probably not give to my husband, but I adore the image, Frieda Flapper available in the store.  Isn't she so fun!  She makes me want to put on my dancin' shoes.
To be totally honest, I'm not sure I have a favorite color scheme, but I do feel like I tend to go for bright, bold colors, rather than a softer color palette.  So I went with pink and green for this one.  I had just bought the striped paper on sale at Michaels, then I found the big flourish in my stash, part of a K&Co designer die-cuts set.

Frieda is colored with Copics, with added touches of glossy accents and stickles.

Sketch was once again an older one from Mojo Monday.  One of these days I'll be better about using current sketches so I can actually enter other challenges but until then, I tend to dig through my stash of printed ones.  Pretty sure I've used this one before...hey, if it ain't broke, right?
Papers:  Bazzill Basics - Two Scoops "Mint Chip", Basic Grey - Pattern Paper "Sultry", other from stash.
Embellies:  WOC, and Recollections flowers, ribbon and gems from stash.

It's probably wishful thinking, but seeing these bright colors, and with February speeding along, I feel like the end of winter is in sight.  I am daydreaming of flowers, and GREEN trees and grass.  Sigh.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine Week, and I can't wait to see all the colors of the rainbow in your entries in the new Corrosive Challenge.
Happy School Vacation to all of you with kiddos, hopefully you can find a few moments to craft!

Adore Me

Well THAT was quite the storm.  We didn't take an official snow measurement, but we definitely got at least 2 feet.  The cars were buried, my son couldn't even play in it, there were some drifts up to my 6ft tall husband's chest!  I hope everyone is getting successfully unburied and is warm and with power.
During the week I had a chance to work on a Valentine's card for the hubby.  We don't really do much for Valentine's Day, but I do have to make him a card, of course.  I started out with the fantastic Cabaret from Kenny K.  She is colored with Copics and I added glossy accents to her lips and eyes.

Sketch was #21 courtesy of Graphicat.  My fellow DT member Regan is now a member of the Graphicat team as well!  This was a great sketch, and worked perfectly with my image.

The rest-
Papers:  From DCWV Lady Couture paper stack.
Embellies:  Tim Holtz Adage Ticket, Recollections Lace on a roll and Adhesive Rhinestones.  Recollections, Michaels and WOC flowers.

Keeping my fingers crossed they are wrong about 2 MORE storms headed our way!  There is no where to put any more snow!

Love Gives Me Wings

Just a quick post to share today.  I made this tag for my grandmother after she gifted all of her grand kids Apple stock.  She had bought shares many years ago, and her accountant told her she was able to gift some shares now that her stock had grown.  Pretty awesome.  I'm not great with numbers and investing, but even I know that Apple does very well.  My Gram is a wonderful lady, and she loves getting my cards, so I knew this would be a perfect little thank you for her.

I just love this digi stamp from Dilly Beans, and was excited to be able to use her.

She is colored with Copics, with glossy accents added to her big beautiful eyes, and her lips.

The butterflies are from a small punch, and the leaves are from a die cut.  Flowers are Recollections, ribbon, lace and pin from stash.  The ticket is Tim Holtz.

I will be entering in the new Dilly Beans Challenge, "Love Gives me Wings" (the butterflies).

Hope every one's February is off to a good start!

Thanks for taking a look.

Corrosive Challenge - Hearts and Flowers

Holy moly, can you believe it's February already?!  I feel like just the other day I was looking at my Christmas tree still.  At least we're that much closer to springtime and warmer weather, and of course, with February comes Valentine's Day.  I don't really feel strongly about this holiday one way or another, but I do think it's cute when kids give each other Valentine's.  I'm hoping my son will be able to exchange them in his class this year.

In honor of the holiday, The Corrosive Challenge wants to see some "Hearts and Flowers", you must use both hearts and flowers on your project.  We are pleased to welcome back an awesome sponsor for the occasion, Sassy Studio Designs.  They have so many perfect images for Valentine's Day, whether you are looking for something sexy, sweet, or romantic you will be able to find something to suit your needs.  I chose to go a little bit naughty, and use sexy Nurse Heather for my card.

She is colored with Copics, printed larger and cropped to suit my layout.  The sentiment was computer generated, courtesy of a google search for funny nurse quotes.
I added glossy accents to her eyes, lips and the needle, and gave her some sparkly eyeshadow.  I think she looks like she is ready for some Valentine's mischief!

Papers:  Stampin' Up from several years ago, Lady Couture stack
Embellies:  Recollections and WOC roses, stick pin made from stash, Queen & Co gems, ribbon from Michaels Halloween collection.

So there we go.  Break out your flowers and hearts, and join The Corrosive Challenge team with our new challenge, for a chance to win some fabulous Sassy Studio Designs images.
