Little Bugg

Good morning peeps!  Here is my 2nd entry for my design team assignment at The Corrosive Challenge Blog.  This challenge was "Another Dimension", requirements were to add depth and dimension using foam squares, etc.  The sponsor is the wonderful Tiddly Inks again.  This time I chose a super cute image called "Little Bugg", isn't she adorable?  I decided to turn her into a lady bugg by coloring her red, and adding some black spots.  I needed a card for the equally adorable daughter of my friend and neighbor who will be turning one in the Spring.  It seems like just yesterday that we would meet at the fence and try to guess when little Abby would make her appearance in the world!  Her room is decorated with Ladybugs and I helped make some Ladybug pictures for her room, so I thought this was just perfect.

I probably could have used a little MORE dimension in hindsight, but I tried :-)  The ladybug dimensional stickers are from EK Success, actually picked out by my son as a reward when he was potty training.  (Shhh don't tell him I took them).  The polka dot paper is from the "Lady Couture" stack by DCWV, the red checked paper was part of a much larger stack that was a generous gift from my neighbor, we love each other!  The flower buttons were a gift from my mom for Christmas, I tried to pop them up a bit too.  It's a little hard to tell but the image and sentiment are popped up using some foam squares.  Ribbon was actually saved from a gift from my mom who likes to use real ribbon for wrapping instead of the curly or plastic kind.  (It's quite a nice touch, and I totally stole the idea from her for my gift giving...I don't think she minds, lol)  I also end up with lots of re-usable bits and pieces for my crafting, win/win!

Anywho!  Enough rambling for now.  I am still very grateful for the chance to be part of the Corrosive design team, all of the ladies have been so welcoming and gracious so far, and the quality of their work is really inspiring me to try to step up my game.  Have a great weekend!

Love At First Bite

It's a miracle!  My first official entry for my first design team challenge.  After many many many questions to poor Regan, I think I finally get how it all works!  Phew.  This is for the "Love Bites" challenge on the Corrosive Challenge Blog, sponsored by Tiddly Inks.  I ended up interpreting the subject matter quite literally (I have a hard time thinking out of the box at times), so I chose an image called "Vamp Me".  The Tiddly Inks images are such a fun mix of either super adorable, or with a little bit of a dark side.  The paper is from the Downtown Loft stack again (bought on sale at JoAnn), and I was happy to find a use for the red sparkly mesh trim, also purchased on sale after Christmas.  You just never know when something may come in handy, right?  I had a lot of fun doing my first challenge, and am already looking forward to the next!

ETA - I found a Challenge to enter at a new site called Poisoned Peas, it is the first challenge, simply "Freesyle", posting an "alternative" project.  This looks like it will be an interesting Challenge Blog to follow.

Triple Sassy Birthdays

I had several Birthday Cards to make in January, and I guess I was feeling Sassy!  All images were Freebies from the Sassy Studio Designs Papercraft Planet group.  I must admit, I am terrible at naming and filing my images so I don't recall the names of these, but they are some fun, cute and sexy ladies!  The first two were for friends, and the last one was an order for my neighbor's Mom, who was turning 60. She came up with the awesome sentiment herself, it was a bit of an inside joke between her and her Mother.  Papers and embellishments were all from stash on hand, the layouts are similar, because sometimes if I find one that works out, I just keep using it.  If it ain't broke, right?  That's all for now, perhaps I'll actually be able to finish the card I started 3 days ago this weekend ;-)  Have a wonderful Saturday!
